As Woodman was rumoured to have said, ‘There are dreams that lead to songs and songs that lead to dreams …’

The myth of Woodman Stone arose in the glacial years directly after the third world war.  With survival in the balance, stories of his underground resistance to the forces of evil brought succour to the survivors as they struggled through the relentless winter.  His songs served as a reminder of simpler times before the final fall, their easy innocence and themes of love lost and dreams unfulfilled spoke directly to the hearts of the survivors, mirroring their need to forget the horrors they had brought upon themselves.

‘Someone Else’s Dreams…’ was written either side of the second millennium yet remained ignored and forgotten until some time after the end of the world.  Fragments stored here show the works in progress of a band at the peak of their powers searching for a simple way to reach out to an unforgiving world.

Woodman Stone is a conundrum – pop music from another time, like a yesterday that never was or a tomorrow we may never have – and while the influences seem clear they are never quite so direct that you can easily predict what might come next.
